2015 has not been a good year for my blog. It has languished in its little corner of the webosphere sniffling quietly as it waited for me to pay it better attention.
The truth is I didn’t know what I want to do with it. Lately all that it is being used for is book reviews – which certainly fulfilled the ‘books’ part of the blog title. But the ‘musings’ has been pushed to the side for quite a long time.
SO what am I to do? When I started the blog many years ago the idea was to keep a record of the books I’ve read – comment on whether I enjoyed them or not. But I also wanted to comment on other interests, other web pages I’ve found, bookish facts, wine, travel, photography and anything quirky I come across. Just reviewing has become burdensome and, frankly, boring. So if I am finding it boring – then my readers must be as well!
So over the next couple of months I will be making some new changes – hopefully you will like them – but in the end it is my blog!
One thing is not going to change – I am still reading. And this year whilst I may not have been blogging – I have been reading up a storm and I have completed 172 books this year.
Next week I will publish a more detailed look at my 2015 reading stats – but for now I just want to wish everyone a happy new year.
Happy new year Sally, I look forward to following you in 2016
Thank you – glad to see you getting back on deck too 🙂
