I am a bookaholic β This means I am incapable of walking into a bookshop without buying something; or reading a blog without writing a title and author down in a list; or joining in book reading challenges which encourage me to buy or borrow more books!
I live in South East Queensland in Australia and I have been married for over 40 years to my wonderful husband.
We have two grown-up daughters and three grandchildren.
I was born in England, brought up in Nigeria on the West coast of Africa, then my parents emigrated to Australia in 1970 and brought me with them!
Hubby and I are Now retired and we both love reading, socialising and travelling.
Thanks for stopping by my blog Sally. You have quite a dynamic childhood of places you lived. I’ve never been outside of North America. I’ve often talked about coming to live in OZ. I have some online friends there. Merry CHRISTmas!
I found you through the Aussie Book Bloggers directory (isn’t it great?!)
Wow you’ve been right around the world. I’m from Tassie but I live in Canada, currently. Am looking forward to moving back though. I love the expression, we are owned by a cat and a dog – in my house, we are owned by three cats!
Wanted to let you know that there’s a glitch in your Posts feed, an error in the plug-in (I’ve had lots of headaches with these things!).
Hi! I found your blog via the Australian Book Bloggers Directory! I love meeting fellow book bloggers, even more so, Australian book bloggers! Nice to meet you! π
Rachel

Thank you, I thoroughly enjoy your blog, being a reader of all kinds of books it’s great to get another perspective on those to add to my “to read” list

Thanks for dropping by π
Hi Sally – you recently left a comment on my blog about cruising Budapest to Amsterdam. We went with APT and they did a great job. Australians tend to choose them or Scenic. They have a similar reputation. Happy cruising.
great to find your blog Sally
Don’t see many books on World War 2 there ??
They would be on hubby’s list Kev
Hi Sally I’ve just stumbled onto your blog and taken a look around. I am also in Oz .. Cheers Jennie

Hi Sally,
Like others commenting here, I was unable to find your review policies or an email address. If you might be interested in reviewing my literary Christian fiction “Threadbare,” and would like to first screen me :), my website is: http://www.cindigale.com/
A sample can be viewed at: http://www.amazon.com/Threadbare-Cindi-Gale/dp/144978111X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1367605554&sr=1-1&keywords=threadbare+by+cindi+gale
I would happily (and gratefully!) send the book to you in the format you prefer.
Regards,
Cindi Gale
Sorry – your comment came in while I was overseas and it got lost in the depths of my dashboard thingy (still figuring out how to make it work for me) anyhow i have now sent you a message with my email contact. I also now have a review policy which is a work in progress π
Hi Sally,
I discovered you via the Goodreads Aussie book bloggers group. My blog is Tahlia Newland, reader, writer & reviewer
I wondered if you’d be interested in a paperback giveaway of ‘You Can’t Shatter Me’ (a double award-winning YA magical realism/romance) The giveaway is only to Australian residents because I happen to have a few copies of the book lying around and I live in Aus and I don’t want to spend heaps sending them OS.
You can read about it, see other people’s reviews and read a sample here if you like. http://www.amazon.com/You-Cant-Shatter-Me-ebook/dp/B008DME8PA/
You don’t have to review it in order to do the giveaway.
You might be interested in reading my other book, however, it’s contemporary/urban/YA fantasy. It’s also an award winner, was represented by Golvan Arts and very nearly published by Allen & Unwin. You can check it out here. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NPL1D8/
Let me know if you’re interested.
Hi there – have visited you blog and left contact there – sorry for delay in replying. I really will have to explore wordpress further – who knows what abilities lurk on its pages!!!
Dear Sally,
My name is Jessica, and I’m a contributing editor to the Australian Women Writers Challenge. Over March we held a spotlight on lesbian/queer women writers and held a book giveaway – and your name was drawn out for your review of Katherine Howell’s ‘Deserving Death’! If you could contact me at jessica @ jessicawhite.com.au, I’ll sort out posting the copy to you.
With best wishes,
Jessica.
Hi Sally, sorry it took me so long to find you here. I’ve been going through everything on Goodreads tonight so I’m really glad I found you! Looking forward to reading lots more of your reviews π
LOL! I wasn’t hiding π
I have been following you for a wee while but I use a reader to put all the blogs I follow in one spot.
I know! It’s my fault, I’m a scatterbrain as well as a scatterbooker sometimes! I think I went a bit crazy and decided to do 2 uni subjects over xmas so I’m even more hopeless than usual at the moment! π
Hello from Melbourne! One of your former colleagues in Darwin, Rachel Hoogstraate, and her family are my next-door neighbours, and we were just chatting about book blogging. She forwarded me the link to your blog, which is great. I can get lost in here for hours!
I am a self-published author of contemporary fiction set mainly in Melbourne, and spend most of my marketing energy on US and UK book blogs since the markets are so much bigger. It’s great to see that Australian book bloggers are popping up too!
Hope the top-end is treating you well. I am owned by a 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd, so I know exactly what you mean π
