Welcome to my May reading wrap-up!
Total of Books Read in May was: 12
Of these: None were a Library Books, 5 were E-books and 7 were from my physical TBR pile
Then: I discovered 6 ‘new for me’ authors (i.e. the first time I have read their work).
And: 8 of the books read were written by Australian authors.
Best Book of the month:
Sadly this month I only had one ‘A’ read – I guess it could have been worse as the possibility is always there that I could have had none! Anyhow – my top book for May is OUTBACK BLAZE by Rachael Johns which was a wonderful read and had everything I can ask for in a book. There was a great plot, great and thoroughly believable characters (even the support cast), romance, mystery and even a touch of spooky.
Least Favourite Book(s):
I say ‘least favourite’ because my lowest ‘score’ still means it is very readable, but for one reason or another I found it a bit of struggle to stay focused and finish. I don’t have one of these every month – but this month I really struggled with DARK WITCH by Nora Roberts. I don’t know what has happened to Nora but she has really lost the plot (literally) with this one. Not up to her usual standard at all and was very disappointed.
Being an eclectic reader I read many different genres. This month the genre covered were Young Adult, Dystopian, Romance, Fantasy, Women’s Fiction and Historical. Some of the books were a blend of two or more genre.
My Australian authors for May were 4 of the new-for-me authors Josephine Moon, E.J. Andrews, Therese Creed and Cathryn Hein, as well Rachael Johns, Fiona McCallum, Anita Heiss and Rhiannon Hart. Just to clarify an Australian author is defined by me as either an Australian born author no matter where they live and write in the world now, or an author who currently lives and writes in Australia even though they may have been born elsewhere.
Finally, the 6 ‘new-for-me’ authors this month were my Aussie authors Josephine Moon, E.J. Andrews, Therese Creed and Cathryn Hein, along with Bonnie Leon, and Christina Baker Kline. I would happily read all of these authors again.
So let’s get onto what this post is about – here is the list of books that I read during May:

Outback Blaze by Rachael Johns – Romance
B = Really Good Read
