Welcome to my May reading wrap-up:
Total Books Read this month: 11
Of these: 0 were Library Books, 7 were E-books and 4 were from my physical TBR pile
Then: I discovered 5 ‘new for me’ authors.
And: 1 of the books read was written by an Australian author
Best Book of the month:
I had no outstanding ‘A’ reads this month so from my group of ‘Really Good Reads’ I have selected THE ASYLUM by John Harwood to be my book of the month. Written by an Australian author it is a historical suspense set in a mental asylum – a perfect gothic setting.
Least Favourite Book(s):
As usual I must explain that I say ‘least favourite’ because my lowest ‘score’ still means it is very readable, but for one reason or another I found it a bit of struggle to stay focused and finish. I had no ‘D’ reads this month so no least favourite for this month.
Majority of the books I read were paranormal – which divided into sub-genres of romance, mystery or just family saga types. Then there were a couple of historical suspense reads, and a sole non-fiction which was a look at the life of a woman who was a midwife in Mali.
My Australian author this month was John Harwood. He was also a new for me author. An Australian author is defined by me as either an Australian born author no matter where they live and write in the world now, or an author who currently lives and writes in Australia even though they may have been born elsewhere.
Finally, the 5 new for me authors this month were my Aussie author John Harwood along with Amanda Sun, Bella Andre, Mary Jo Burke and Kris Holloway all of whom I would read again.
So without further delay – here is the list of books that I read during May:
