Title: Drip Dry
Author: Ilsa Evans
Genre: Women’s Fiction/ Australian Author
She’s back! New, improved and stronger than ever – but still struggling to keep her head above water, even in the bath. And what a week it is – there’s one wedding, two babies, three engagements and four birthdays. Then Alex’s long awaited return from overseas heralds VERY unexpected results. Along the way there’s an infectious disease outbreak, a mysterious death in the family, a broken nose, a bruised rump and several bruised egos. Can life get more frenetic than this?
DRIP DRY is the sequel to Spin Cycle which I read and enjoyed last year. I have settled into Camilla’s life now, and enjoyed this book even more. I don’t think I have laughed so much than the scene where a nude video was played at her young daughter’s birthday party. One word – awkward! Being a single mother to 3, and having to juggle 2 ex-husbands (one having just moved next door) along with an Attila-the-Hun type mother and two sisters with their own hang-ups means Camilla’s life is not her own. The story, which follows the week leading up to her mother’s third marriage and Camilla’s 40th birthday, is just out of control and very funny. I just love these books – and still have more of Ilsa Evans’ works to explore.
Rating: B – Great. I really enjoyed reading it.
