Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read and open to a random page:
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week my two teasers are from A MODERN WITCH by Debora Geary.
Book Background: Lauren is downtown Chicago’s youngest elite realtor. She’s also a witch. She must be – the fetching spell for Witches’ Chat isn’t supposed to make mistakes. So says the Nell who coded the spell, at least. The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn’t end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.
The first is the opening sentence on pg 1:
“…“I like the lingerie, Nell. Can I meet the woman it fits?”…”
The second is from pg 11:
“…It wasn’t normal for Ginia to sound that mad at her little brother, even when he decided to use her for teleporting practice. Nell backed out of the fridge and took a look at her middle triplet. Then she promptly stuck her head back in the fridge, trying very hard, and not very successfully, to muffle her laughter…”
