This week my teaser is from pg 227 of MAGNOLIA WEDNESDAYS by Wendy Wax.
Forty-one year old Vivien is living in a nice apartment in New York City, working at a major TV station as an investigative reporter, and dating an amazing guy who is as dedicated to his career as Vivien is to her own. Life is sweet. However when she is shot in the bottom while working and the whole thing is filmed and becomes a youtube hit, her life changes. Work brings in a younger replacement and Vivien finds she is pregnant. In a burst of hormonal decision making Vivien resigns from work and flees to the one place she vowed she’d never return – her hometown in Georgia – moving in with her sister Melanie. She has just told her sister about her pregnancy and confessed that she has not yet told the baby’s father who remains in the Middle East, covering the war situation.
