Over all May was a pretty good reading month for me, out of a total of 11 only one that was a bit ho hum and 4 were real page turners for me.
The books were predominantly Young Adult books of the Paranormal/Science fiction genre; and over half of my reads were by Aussie Authors.
A = Excellent Stuff – a real page turner and read in one sitting
The Blood Countess by Tara Moss – Paranormal/Young Adult (Australian Author)
The Spider Goddess by Tara Moss – Paranormal/Young Adult (Australian Author)
Prized by Caragh O’Brien – Science Fiction/Young Adult
Days Like This by Alison Stewart – Science Fiction/Young Adult (Australian Author)
B = Really Good Read
The Wanderer by Pippa Dee – Science Fiction/Young Adult (Australian Author)
Ruby Blues by Jessica Rudd – Chick Lit (Australian Author)
The Bookshop on Jacaranda Street by Marlish Glorie – General Fiction (Australian Author)
C = Average – still very readable and enjoyable
Whiskey Island by Emilie Richards – Mystery
Goodbye Sarajevo by Atka Reid and Hana Schofield – Non-Fiction
Thin Rich Bitches by Janet Eve Josslyn – Chick Lit
D = it was OK, a bit of a struggle to finish
Anne Boleyn and Me by Alison Prince – Historical /Young Adult
So, onward to June – Whoo Hoo!! What goodies will I discover this month?
I really should read some Tara Moss, especially since I have a signed copy of The Blood Countess
Michael they are light and fluffy but well written and very clever
I saw Tara in a debate with Leigh Redhead and others at the MWF a few years ago – was a good debate
Sally, I’m happy you enjoyed my book, Days Like This. I look forward to reading the other books on your list, especially the Australian YA.
