Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read and open to a random page:
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I am currently reading LOTS OF LOVE by Fiona Walker – the main character is Ellen and she is a surfer chick who has just split up with her long time boyfriend and has gone to a little English village to find out why her parent’s house hasn’t been sold. She soon finds out that the house has been lived in by vagrants and is in a mess, the garden a disaster. Ellen has had some humorous run-ins with the couple who are being paid to take care of the house and garden, and the real estate agent who is suppose to be selling it. She attended a charity auction with a drugged up hippy artist next door and wins herself 3 wishes from the drop dead gorgeous bad boy son of the lord of the manor, Spurs. Spurs turns up the next day and agrees to fix up the garden – and he and Ellen seem to have an instant attraction – but he has a really bad past, which includes time in jail. There are all sorts of quirky characters in the village and Ellen is finding out that selling the house is not going to be as straight forward as she thought
Here are my teasers:
Pg 26 “…The house smelt unloved and unlived-in – dusty and stale, with an unexpected, familiar undertone of beer, cigarettes and greasy food, like a pub; She soon found out why…”
Pg 186 “…One moment I was standing on two cantering nag’s rumps, the next I had a meter of fast moving chain spinning towards my face…”
Wow, those are quite the disparate teasers. Are you sure they’re from the same book?
