Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read and open to a random page:
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I am reading THE VOLUPTUOUS DELIGHTS OF PEANUT BUTTER AND JAM by Lauren Liebenberg. Set in the African country of what use to be known as Rhodesia in the 1970s – the story is told by 8-year-old Nyree. The book was short listed for Orange Prize for New writers and I am reading it as part of my Orange January/July challenge
Here are my teasers:
“…Mozzies descend on us in the summer evenings, plunge their syringe-like proboscises into our flesh and drink like vampires, regardless of our blood’s quinine concentration…” – pg 51
“…The rainy season has begun and the nights, swollen and sullen, are lanced by dark, spiny curtains of rain…” – pg 65
Beautiful description of rainy season nights. Also, I’ve never heard of mosquitoes being called “mozzies.” Great choices for teasers.

Very descriptive! My teaser comes from a collection of short stories by L.M. Montgomery.
Great descriptions… two very good teasers.

I recognise that descriptions of mozzies (she says as she scratches at the numerous bites on her arms!)
